Marks Spencer warm home discount

Applied for warm home discount with marks and spencer energy. My application is shown as pending. When I called to ask when it will be processed I was told not enough people had applied and they were waiting until more people did.

AIBU in asking for it to be processed now ?

Has anyone else had a different experience?
Generally speaking they are a very good provider and good with communications but I don’t think they should be waiting for months to start processing.

We’ll usually apply the credit a few weeks after you have applied but we have until the 31st March 2022.

Last year I applied in January and had it approved in 3 days.

When you applied last January, they'd presumably reached their quota by that point for it to be quickly processed on receipt.

A 3 day turnaround was exceptionally fast.

All 4 suppliers I've used for previous WHD haven't paid out until at least December, I've always put my application in the day the scheme opens though.

Expecting them to change their existing policy just for you is the bit I think is unreasonable.

Waiting till winter for money to help towards your winter fuel bills isn't unreasonable.
