Sorry it’s a Hermes one - is a 10 day delay bad

Bought some great winter gear from MissGuided for the first time, 50% off (and now all sold out) 10 days ago.

Hermes have kept emailing parcels are delayed.

I have a feeling they will just give up and return the parcels to MissGuided.

Has anyone had a arrive after multiple emails about delays? Do you think I’ll receive my parcels?

Spent ages poring over the website and paid for the annual next day delivery pass.

YANBU: you’ll get it eventually
YABU: no way, make sure you get your refund

Good luck. Hermes are awful!

Twice they've delivered my parcel to the wrong address last Christmas. I have sent numerous emails and tried contacting them and I am still without my parcel or my refund. They have never responded once to my emails. They just don't care.

I refuse to order anything if I see that Hermes are the couriers.

I hate Hermes. Lost my oldest child's school uniform - claimed to have delivered it and refused to believe I didn't have it.
Turned out they delivered it to the house opposite but because the tracking service said it was delivered in the general area they didn't believe me.

10days is a long time. More than likely they will say it's lost. I would try to claim your refund x

Thank you, doesn’t look good.

Forgot to say I also ordered things from Debenhams and H&M and Hermes have sent the same emails about those parcels.

I’m wondering if there is a driver shortage issue?

I’ve have a 50% success rate in parcels being delivered from the white company. They use Hermes and you get the same thing, parcel shows on the trackers as picked up and then delayed and will be on the move in 24 hours. Then nothing for days /weeks. I contact the white company, they say give it 24 hours, I contact them again to say, ok that’s 24 hours and nothing happened, they contact Hermes and come back to me to tell me the parcel is lost. I’ve had this with 3 out of 6 times I’ve ordered from them. It is always with items that are then out of stock (no issues with orders on products that are still in stock after I’ve received my order).

I think it is an error in their system (which flows through to hermes tracking system) and the parcel was never dispatched as the item was actually out of stock when I ordered but showing as in stock on the website.

Anyway, to go back to the original question, if it’s saying delayed for the last 10 days it’s not on its way to you and has either been lost or was never dispatched in the first place. You need to jump through the relevant hoops for a refund.

Have you tried your local Facebook page? We contact our local Hermes man if a parcel goes astray. He's pretty good at answering.

I know they are drastically understaffed and it will it get worse around Christmas.

In my experience if you get one of those ‘delayed’ messages you’ll never see your items. Happened to me more than once and once with Debenhams - expensive item just seemed to vanish into thin air. Hmm
In general Hermes for me is ok, BUT when I see that message I know my item won’t arrive.

They recently lost my parcel. I've now had to claim back from the retailer. They are literally impossible to get talk to too. You can't call them , you finally think you get through it's just an automated reply. I tried to get them to investigate via Twitter and they have turned their direct messaging off! If you have a look the amount of people they have recently pissed of is crazy!

You might have to give up on this OP. I've been waiting in like a muppet for Hermes to deliver a parcel for more than 3 weeks. They are still investigating. You would not believe how many levels of investigation they say they are escalating it to. I say it's lost. I've lost count at the number of emails I have sent. Finally, yesterday the seller has agreed to a refund.

As you're getting the same message for several parcels, it sounds like a driver shortage. Check the detailed tracking, are the parcels even reaching the local driver?

We've been fortunate with Hermes, the local driver has done it for years and never lets us down. Other areas don't have a permanent/ regular driver and their deliveries are very hit and miss.

I had a delayed message, then nothing for about 5 days. I got in touch with the retailer, who must have chased as I got it a couple of days later.

My experience is when it's delayed it means Hermes have lost it! I had it recently and everytime I asked Hermes I went round in circles! Went to the retailer and they sent a replacement

@WhyMeLord that’s a good point, sometimes I order things then only to get an email saying they are out of stock

@HoardingSamphireSaurus will see if I can find the driver’s details on FB, he’s really nice.

@CorrBlimeyGG the tracking page brings up the same message for each parcel. Maybe he is on holiday 🧐

I was so happy to find an ankle length duvet coat with a hood at an affordable price, would be a shame not to receive it.
