To get agitated when my toddler doesn't eat all day

Every so often (not daily or weekly) but every so often my 2.5 year old will refuse every meal I put infront of him including snacks?!

He's big for his age so I'm not worried about his weight but it makes me irrationally irritated and anxious!

Does anyone else have days like this Sad he ate a good breakfast but has refused everything since! No sign of an illness or anything!

Arghhh I needed to vent more than anything.

It's ok, we all have days when we're not sohungry! Perfectly normal, if, as you say, it isn't every single day

Are you getting any help for your anxiety?

Still1nLove · 06/11/2021 17:05

I wouldn’t worry. If you’re offering him food, sitting and eating your meals with him, and he doesn’t want to eat, not really much you can do. Is he having milk during the day?

My DS does this every so often.
Completely fine just not that hungry.

I offer a supper and 8/10 he'll eat that.

Don't worry, just one of those days for him, we all have them.

Some days I don’t feel hungry, I’ve been like it my whole life, if I ate 3 meals one day I wouldn’t hardly eat the next day.
My mum used to get panicked about it too, and used to force feed me to make sure I ate Confused so yeah, don’t do that!

He’s not going to starve himself, just make food available to him, and if he doesn’t want it then just leave him to it

My 2 year old has just this minute refused tea and is happily eating their requested pear and yogurt. They are eating - maybe not what I wanted them to but better than not having anything.

Yeah your all totally right!
I would never force feed him I couldn't think of anything worse and I don't want to give him a bad relationship with food!
I'll offer him a yoghurt later and see what happens! He doesn't drink milk, he hates him! He drank it up to about 15 months and then once day refused it and I kept offering it and sometimes I still do but it's been refused every since!
And no I'm not getting help for my anxiety, I did ask but I was just offered beta blockers which didn't help me personally so that was that!
