Kids fighting

DS4 and DS2 are now both screaming at each other trying to get a toy. Both screaming at the top of their lungs. Been screaming for about 10 minutes now.

Parenting isn't about taking sides. Take the toy away from them both and deal with it.

I would confiscate it and send the both to bed.

No side, you explain we don't scream and fight when we want to get a toy. They're kids and will still scream and fight occasionally, regardless, but you need to explain to them that's not how we behave.

Of course you are. It’s your job to teach them to resolve conflict and share etc.

Remove toy.

Explain that it is not OK to scream and fight.

Separate them into different rooms.

Went from screaming at eachother, to calming down, resolving and in bed in about 8 minutes.

They were both extremely knackered and I think that's why they were both screaming at each other. It all started as they both wanted to sit on my lap and one kept pushing the other off. Anyway both In bed and asleep now

We have a 2.5 year old and a 5 year old.
They drove me completely mad over half term fighting over just about everything and nothing.
I half jokingly said to DH that I would give them weapons and let them fight to the death.

I can't take sides because they are both my favourite at different times. The little ones cuter and the big ones smarter.
I love them both but can't stand them together.

I need the magic potion that makes kids stop fighting, screaming, and puts them in bed AND makes them fall asleep all within 13 minutes whilst I type threads on Mumsnet!
