My ds hates loud noises. Fireworks freak him out. He likes the actual fireworks just hates the bangs and gets really upset. He's gone to a club tonight and we got him some ear defenders so he could join in as they're going to be outdoors and the banging is quite intense! I mentioned this to my sister and she went off on some massive rant about how it's not normal for him to need ear defenders and how I should've picked up he had a 'problem' way before now (he's 7) he has absolutely no other symptoms of any sort of asd, sensory issue. So I got really offended and told her to mind her own bloody business! AIBU??
