To be worried sick (Health)

Hi,

Just posting on here for traffic as I posted on health and haven’t had a response.

A couple of weeks ago my mum had pain and swelling in her breast…GP referred her to the breast clinic which she went to today. (By this point her swelling had went and breast felt fine).

She had an ultrasound and mammogram- to which showed nothing at all. He told her she didn’t have cancer.

The doctor then asked her reasons for being referred and he examined her. He said there was thick skin around the nipple and a few dimples- (what obviously didn’t show) and had to do a biopsy. I am now worried sick as I have googled and everything that is coming
Up if about inflammatory breast cancer.

Do doctors have to tell a patient if they think it could be this and has anyone been in a similar situation. I feel worried sick and can’t sleep at the thought of it being bad news!

She has been referred back to the GP and not the doctor so surely that is a good sign.

Hello

Didn't want to read and run

BC esp IBC will not necessarily present as swelling that comes and goes . IBc spreads quite quickly so that the swelling has gone down maybe a good sign ??

Calm yourself down.so many other benign conditions could cause dimples including ageing

Really hope for the best news for your mum x
