Why do I keep getting ill? ☹️

As of September onwards I’ve had a bad cold, a sickness bug, a chest infection and now an extremely sore throat. Done PCRs and LFTs every time and always negative.
My partner works in a secondary school and my son goes to nursery, I also take him to playgroups.
But I take vitamin D, slow release vitamin C and. Multi vitamin with a probiotic everyday.

Where am I going wrong?!

Is it not because of the nursery/play group thing? Are ypu breastfeeding? I caught everything under the sun while breastfeeding. I think it does something to your immune system.

Take zinc too. Eat plenty fruit and veg. Get a Nutri Ninja to make healthy fruit drinks etc if need be.

Annoyingly, I seem more susceptible to the bugs DS brings home from nursery than he does. Small children are gross.

My son and I were repeatedly sick when he started nursery for about 6 months. I got the point of the first sign of the slightest sniffle, I would get the dettol spray out and sanitise everything in the house, light switches, hand rails, door handles, the sofas, everything!!

Also are sleeping well? Eating well?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 04/11/2021 21:38

More sleep maybe is what you need?

PumpkinPie2016 · 04/11/2021 21:41

I'm the same Sad I teach in a secondary school and just seem to have had one bug after another since Sept.

All pcr/lft negative.

Currently sat in bed shivering like mad - haven't been able to get warm all day despite heating being on/fire being lit.

Not sure what the answer is Confused

What are you eating? Why are you taking vitamin c - don’t you get enough in your diet?

AliceMcK · 04/11/2021 21:45

We were constantly sick when our DCs were in nursery. However, is it keeps up ask your gp to check your ANA levels. I have auto immune problems and get sick a lot. Boosting my immune system with lots of vitamins is the worse thing for me. It’s worth getting it checked out.
