Actions are a lot more important than words. I think compliments on physical appearance can be a bit tricky for some people as it’s so easy to get it wrong.

I don't see the issue here at all - he shows you he's attracted to you and you have lots of physical intimacy. Saying "you look nice" adds nothing surely?

If you would like compliments on your looks you could bring that up and tell him that is something you would like. Perhaps he could do with a bit of prompting. Or perhaps he won’t go for it. This is not how everyone shows love and perhaps it’s not how he shows love. I guess it depends on what you feel you need and if you can / want to adapt.

It sounds like he compliments you on the stuff that is more meaningful, which I think is lovely.

If it was the other way around, and he only complimented on you on your looks, that would be more concerning imo.

Why don't you ask him sometime 'what do you think of this outfit' or 'do you think I look okay in this?' if that's the kind of feedback you want.
