Getting a new oven next week, but without one just now so I'm experimenting with what you can cook in the microwave.

Do you think quick cook fresh tortellini filled with ricotta and pesto will come out OK?

Place your bets now! Grin

They're in the fridge and need eating up, so I'm going for it! Will report back...

Yeh I reckon so.
They’d also cook through if you left them in a bowl of boiling water if you left them long enough

I think you will have a messy microwave

I do it all the time. Put it in a bowl of boiling water and stick it in the microwave for 2 mins. Works fine Smile

If you can cook gyoza in the microwave, then I'm sure you cook tortellini.

Enjoy your dinner!

I’ve cooked the filled tortellini in the microwave before. Just put them in a bowl with some water and it will be fine!

Definitely, I did it all the time as student. Use a Pyrex jug and hot water

RockinHorseShit · 02/11/2021 08:53

Yes you can, but boil the water first before putting in the microwave.

We were without a kitchen when having ours replaced for longer than promised & found we could cook more in the microwave than expected. Including pasta

We managed for 6 months with just a temporary kitchen (mini oven/grill and microwave) when we were doing building work. That meant plenty of rice, pasta and boiled veg came from the microwave.

The key thing is to use boiling water. We'd typically cook in about 30 second bursts until we had an idea of the timing needed.
