To give a present for colleague for new baby

I work in hospitality and it’s been pretty brutal. One of my colleagues had just had a new baby and I’ve brought a little gift for the baby; but starting to think he and his wife will think I’m a weirdo if I give them it.. so my AIBU to give them a gift?

Lovely not weird. Presumably they’ve mentioned the baby at work. Assuming it’s a baby grow or similar and a card very normal to buy.

No, it's lovely. We have received baby gifts from my husband's coworkers and I haven't thought it weird.

Well provided it's not a 'travel system' or entire nursery set of furniture, no that's a nice & normal thing to do

Aw bless, thats so sweet of you! Honestly it isn't weird at all, they'll more than likely be very grateful to you and feel really happy that you even thought to gift them something for baby.

No it's a lovely thoughtful and useful gift. One of DH coworkers gave us the exact same thing and they were really useful and much appreciated. I didn't think it was weird at all, I'm from the sort of background where you always give a gift when someone has a new baby

Muslins are a great gift, I agree it's lovely and not weird (unless you've never spoken to her and she has no idea who you are, then might be!).

We got some gifts from unexpected people with our first baby and I was only ever touched and grateful.
