The hypocrisy of it all makes it difficult to take seriously. I just see a group of privileged people plotting to make life more difficult for the rest of us. Celebs like Leonardo Dicaprio who enjoy a life of excess have a cheek telling the rest of us to cut back. I can't feel guilty about putting the heating up a bit or using a plastic bag while the Cop26 lot are jetting all over the world when they could discuss the matter remotely. I don't think it's the way to get people on board.

YANBU. The people who make the decisions there for only 2 days, with Russia and China absent. A load of slebs who contribute very little flying in on their private jets; menus full of meat and dairy. Vast amounts of money spent on policing. Plastic waste and more unnecessary consumption and emissions. No relevant decisions made and nothing achieved, it seems.

Perhaps a smaller-scale conference could have had some justification. I just think it's a massive exercise in hypocrisy.

I think its bizarre. Private jets, helicopters and hundreds oof cars on the go to get them all to glasgow and back to have a chat about how to reduce pollution. Doing it via zoom should have been their first step...

Oh no no, meetings cannot be done via zoom, don't you know? Meetings MUST be face to face, they are not good enough via zoom and its just pointless.

I hate meetings in general, they are mostly pointless, achieve nothing and you could get your point across better and quicker in an email, while doing actual work at the same time and not wasting hours 'discussing'. This is a two week holiday for these idiots, they will achieve nothing.

Well they've got an agreement, but it's been watered down.

Is anyone else a little tired of India pulling out the 'developing nation' and 'poverty' cards when they have nuclear weapons, probes and satellites in space? They will be quick to blame us for everything.
