Reverse Interview Panel!?

Shamelessly posting here for traffic.

I have my first, fairly senior, management interview next week. One of the elements is a reverse interview panel where I have to interview other members of the management team.

Help!? What sorts of questions should I be asking?! How many!? This feels totally alien!

TIA and WineWine on me if I get it!

Ask them about strategy, big questions related to products and services provided to customers. Pick something that doesn’t work well in your company, and ask their view. Keep it high level about the customers, don’t go tactical.

I'd be inclined to ask about things like:

  • their company values and corporate culture; how well their values are embedded into everyday working.
  • where they are in their current strategic cycle
  • what's the thing they are most proud of with regards to their role in the organisation / the organisation's output.

Might be worth asking how much time is allowed for this part of the interview to get an idea of how many questions to prepare?

Definitely ask how much time - you can’t go into that blind.

As PP said, ask about culture.

Ask about the performance of team members.

And why do people leave?

What they find most rewarding, and most challenging about their roles.

NeverChange · 01/11/2021 14:10

Any of the following:

What are their key priorities for the year ahead?
What are biggest challenges in achieving those?

How to the believe Covid19 and Brexit has impacted on the company both from a positive and negative perspective?

Where do they see the biggest competition or threats?

What is balance in terms of retaining existing customers/attracting new ones?

You can tailor it to the role you are applying for? For example if it's a HR role? What are the current retention levels in the company? Where are staff leaving for etc? What measures are in place to reduce the churn?

How about what keeps you awake at night?
What are your biggest Challenges?
What do you see as the organisations biggest challenges?
