Pretty useless DPD

Waited in all morning for a parcel delivery. Received a 'Sorry we missed you!' email. No knock, no card put through. Checked the website and there's a blurred picture (obviously taken at speed) of my house from the opposite side of the green. This apparently is proof the driver was at my property. Fuming!

AIBU to feel really, really cross with such bloody awful service?

I'm having the same problem with Hermes. Rebooked delivering my parcel three days in a row and then took a picture from top of the street saying it had been delivered. Little did they know they delivered it to the wrong address and that neighbour had already given it to me. I know have a second parcel missing. Hope you get it sorted soon!

There was a thread on this awhile back it was really interesting. Apparently different providers vary depending on the areas and the individual delivery people.

I know the pressure delivery people can be under. But it would have been quicker for him to stop and deliver the bloody thing than take a picture of my house, send it in and click the missed delivery button on his machine. Ive got to wait in tomorrow now (a workday) and what's to stop the same thing happening again?

They do. The worst experiences I've had here are with UPS.

Hermes and DPD are very reliable, as are Yodel and all of the Amazon deliverers.

Dpd gone to shit here as well. I used to think of them as a reliable option, but not now. They never knock/ring - consistently leave fresh food deliveries on step without knocking. I've complained to them , but it has made no difference.

So it turns out the sender hadn't written my house number on the address, just the road name. So I retract my allegation that DPD are bloody useless, but still think they could have done a bit more yesterday to solve the error there and then.
