Has anyone else noticed a distinct lack of the mixer in supermarkets or is it just near where I live ? Aibu

Haven't been able to get any for about a month now!

I have a fridge full of Britvic bottles soon to go out of date! 🙈🤣🤣🤣

Bitter lemon & tonic water has been absent for a long time. Non in Lidl, Aldi and it’s pot luck in Morrison’s. Had been getting the odd bottle in the Coop but 3 weeks and nothing.

My local Sainsbury’s is lately very spotty on both tonic water and bitter lemon (both of which are fabulous with gin). YANBU.

I can't get sparkling water never mind bitter lemon. The only tonic is fever tree mini cans.

Something to do with the lack of CO2?

Tesco have completely stopped selling bitter lemon, couldn't find any in Sainsbury's either. My dh uses it for restless legs so we have to keep an eye on the very expensive corner shop as they stock it occasionally

I’ve been noticing this since the spring at least - not sure when the CO2 issues started?

@ninDs mix with vanilla white rum and violet syrup. Delicious.

We’ve had difficulties in getting mixers, especially in bottles of tonic water. Also, small boxed juices. Where are they?

Genuine question. How does bitter lemon help with restless legs?

@TotallySuper it's the quinine in it. He only uses it when his legs are really bad so once or twice a month but it helps

Haven't noticed it on bitter lemon as don't need any but have struggled to find the small and of tomato juice - required for my twice a year fancy of a Bloody Mary

This has been a problem since last summer at least! Even when I was in France I was struggling to get hold of Gini (French brand of bitter lemon) and it's been on and off here ever since! I remember reading somewhere that there had been some lemon-harvesting issues last year so that could explain it?

Thanks OP, you've now reminded me of something else that I like to add to the list of things I can't get . Plus I have a load of sloe gin hanging around that it would go well with.

I usually only buy Waitrose tonic in cans (no sweeteners, nice and fizzy unlike plastic bottled versions) but I've not been able to get that the last few times I've looked. I also prefer the slightly larger can size compared to Fever Tree and it's cheaper.

No problems in Tesco or Asda where I live (just outside Edinburgh). Just bought about 7 bottles for a Halloween party. They had bitter Lemon too. How strange!

BTW Gino is not bitter lemon. It’s fancy lemonade.
