Bright funeral - what to wear?

Posting here for traffic, sorry in advance!

My partners close friend died last week (we’re in our 20s so quite a shock) and his fiancé has requested we wear bright colours to the funeral.

I have one colourful dress I can wear (floral, is that appropriate?) but my partner (male) is struggling.

Does anyone have any suggestions? He still wants his outfit to be funeral appropriate!

I went to a similar funeral a few years ago, with bright clothing requested, and people were wearing all sorts.

Im sure a floral dress would be fine. For you partner, could he wear a suit with a bright tie, and/or a coloured shirt?

I went to a similar funeral last month. All kinds of pretty dresses, some trainers, some jeans, some more formal. All completely acceptable. Perhaps a bright shirt for your DH. My DH wore jeans and a checked shirt (not particularly bright) because that's all he had.

Sorry for your loss. I would think the exact same as the previous poster. Floral dress (and smart jacket/pashmina) and partner in suit with bright tie and/or shirt.

If the dress is smart, then fine. If it was a spaghetti strapped, skimpy, summery dress, then no. In that case, I'd choose a smarter/more formal/workwear type dress/trousers- even in a darker colour, but wear a bright jacket/scarf of pashmina.

I always choose a smarter, more structured outfit over it being ALL completely black or in this case- bright.

Fine for the dress. He can wear a bright shirt and tie and suggested already or simply a jumper in a nice colour if not being too formal.
