Rev Mark Coleman Protestor should loose his position?

He's one of the Insulate Britain Protestors in London this morning and has litterally just been interviewed by BBC news. Surely the Church does not want him representing them?!

Once you're a priest you're a priest for life, even once you stop your job as a vicar/rector/chaplain etc.

You don't stop being a priest because you've retired. You just stop being in paid employment (usually).

Yes you're absolutely right OP, you should write to the church elders posthaste, I'm sure this will be uttermost on their list of priorities.

Yes but I thought the "dog collar" was CofE Uniform for practicing non retired priests only?

Because he chooses to.

It doesn’t mean he represents the Church and it doesn’t mean that he isn’t retired.

First, many other denominations wear dog collars. Second, you are wrong about only currently practising ministers/priests wearing dog collars. It’s like a retired GP still being called Doctor.

FWIW, I have 2 relatives who are retired clergy and only wear dog collars when they are taking Church services.
