Wedding guest outfit

It is years since I’ve been to a wedding and I need to find an outfit.

I’m a size 20, in my late 30s, average height, and it’s a November wedding.

I don’t even know where to start - help please!

You should probably repost or get this moved to the style section. It would be useful to know what the dress code is as well.

But I would go for a midi type dress possibly in Jersey for comfort. Boden and phase 8 are your friends. Something you can dress up for the wedding and then down for other uses.

Do you have a smart coat or jacket that could be a foundation piece?

Thanks. I’ll see if I can do that.

It is smart rather than full on (registry office / golf club) so no hats etc, but not just pull something out of your wardrobe.

I’d like something I can wear again more casually as I don’t envisage another wedding any time soon. I was wondering about separated, so a top and skirt as I thought they might be easier to wear casually with other things. Or is that not the done thing?

What part of the country try is the wedding? Because I've been to two recently (Cotswolds and London, both no. Church) and was surprised at how un-showy and casual they were.

Hobbs dresses are lovely.

Phase Eight have some nice things and I was surprised to learn recently do have bigger sizes these days.

Rough budget?

What kind of style do you normally have...are you pro- or anti-florals for example? Are you more likely to want something floaty and ethereal or tailored and chic?

Any specific colours that do or don't suit you?

How about a full length skirt with a pretty top and smart jacket or long length cardigan with boots?
Or some smart leggings and a statement tunic(like the Joe Brown's ones)
Or a wrap dress?
Opt for something you are comfortable in.🌈

Dress generally. But budget?
