To think that Botox possibly made me look persistently tired ?

I got Botox a few months ago. First time at 48 years of age. Onlythree people knew I was getting it.
Outside of these three people not one person noticed or commented on any change. One person said I looked wrecked all the time since I got it and the other two said that they didn't notice any difference whatsoever. I got it in my forehead and around me eyes.
Is this a thing? I got Botox because I was so wrecked looking and thought it would make me fresher. Is this a possibility ? Has anyone heard of this happening and what did happen?

To add, I have hooded eyes naturally which were badly hooded for the first six weeks post Botox.
Anyone please?

Pic?

Did you have it across your whole forehead or just in the centre?

campire · 26/10/2021 18:09

Across My whole forehead. That was fine and smoothed it out but it was the tired look that bothered me and not a single Person noticed anything , except how much more tired I Looked .

I probably wouldn't comment if I thought someone had Botox or other work done.

I mean I would if it was a sister or close friend etc but not a colleague or someone.

whereisthekey · 26/10/2021 18:14

did you get it placed so that it would slightly raise your eyebrows in the right areas and open up your eyes? or just..plonked everywhere? it's something to raise with your medic next time as they should be using it to correct any imbalances.

Glaghirl · 26/10/2021 18:17

It sounds like you had too much in your forehead. This will cause heaviness on the brows and eyes. A good doctor will put the minimum in to get a result and will balance this with injection to live your brow a bit and avoid the heavy tired look.

It will wear off but next time I would ask them to be cautious and explain what happened this time. You may not need so much.

Across My whole forehead

That's why then . It usually works best when used in the centre from brows to hairline.

samesign · 26/10/2021 18:25

To tell someone they look wrecked all the time is just rude, maybe they are envious.
The others haven't noticed so can't be that bad, it wears off after the first time fairly quickly so you can decide if you like it enough or not.

I’ve got hooded eyes and this is why I’d be cautious about getting it. Surely it would add to the heaviness rather than lift, which is what I need?

That really shouldn't happen.

I had Botox once at a salon that did various treatments. It caused my brows to drop and I looked worse. I then went to a clinic and saw a cosmetic surgeon. They told me that fillers would help my face but Botox would do nothing for me so they would never do it. That was despite me going to them for botox and fillers.
I don’t know who gave you your treatment but check their credentials

Have your eyelids done?

campire · 26/10/2021 19:58

No eyelids . Can they be done ?

Tired like how? Because of a drooping brow? This is a definite risk with botox in the main forehead, it takes a really skilled injector to avoid it (from personal experience). Also a good injector can avoid the spock look. It will wear off.

campire · 26/10/2021 20:12

Dropping eyelids. They're hooded as it is .
This may sound weird but I thought that the outer corner of each eye looked
Like they were tightened so almost
Like I was squinting.
It almost felt like there was an indentation or a hollow at the outer corner of each eye.

Botox if done incorrectly can cause drooping. Too much in the forehead can cause your eyelids to drop. It's basically a balancing act with all the different muscles. If unhappy, definitely speak to your doctor.

I've got hooded eyes and I only have Botox in my number 11's between my brows. If I have the whole forehead done it starts making me look heavy about the eyes.

campire · 26/10/2021 20:22

Maybe that's what happened @MyHairNeedsASnip
