To ask if anyone has successfully managed to get a refund for an apple subscription?

I just checked my bank account and £45 came out today for an app that I bought last year. I always check my apple account and check I’m not subscribing without realising to any apps, I don’t know how I missed that one.

I am struggling so much this month for money I desperately needed that £45 as I don’t get paid til Friday. I’ve requested a refund from Apple, didn’t realise you could do that but it brought it up after a google. I have no idea what my chances are though. It only renewed today, I would hope I may have a cooling off period in which I could cancel and they might just charge me for a month or something? Or they’ll reject my request

Yes twice, in both cases as I cancelled quick and hadn't used the app/subscription they refunded promptly. One for £108

Oh that’s good to hear!! I haven’t used the app today and luckily ive asked today, the same day I’ve been billed. God I really hope they refund me, I need that £45 for food it’s so bad that you’re not sent a reminder etc for subscriptions, especially ones that are neatly £50 a year!

If you do get it wouldn't they refund to your card which will take up to 5 working days anyway?

You may need to find a backup plan op, is there someone you can borrow from? Any way you can make your food last a week? Any chance of a food bank referral?

Have you contacted the company the app was for, too? They’d likely be able to respond faster, and Apple might ask them to refund. Apple can be hit and miss…

Is there anything you can do for the money in the meantime? It’ll take 5-7 days for it to go back on to your card, unless you’re really lucky.

I had a refund for Spotify when I realised it cost more to buy it through Apple. You can open a chat with Apple and do it like that, but I agree with a PP that it might not go back into your bank straight away.

Yes sorry I should have been clearer they agreed to the refund the same day but I think it took a few to get back to me

I had a refund of £88 when I forgot to cancel a subscription. Was really simple and the money was in my bank about 3 days later

I've had 2 refunds just this week - one for a subscription that I forgot to cancel for £92.99 and one for a duplicate subscription that I paid in error. Both were accepted within 24 hours and refunded to my bank within 3 days.
