To ask about cooking gammon steaks

I don’t really eat meat but my DH loves gammon so I got some gammon steaks. The cooking instructions say I can fry or grill them but I’m a bit nervous about ensuring they are properly cooked. Can anyone offer any insight as in whether the grill needs to be low? How do you cook gammon steaks?
Thank you 😊

The grill can be on medium.

You can also fry them, again on a medium heat. It depends on the thickness of the steak - it just needs to be very hot right through.

I usually cook mine for about 6 minutes either side.

I either fry or grill, it's just like cooking bacon. I turn them over now and again and they don't take long. You can normally tell when they're done because they start browning a bit.

(But that’s for a very thick steak)

I gently fry them, but I snip the fat round the edge into a sort of 'fringe' otherwise they tend to curl up. They don't take long 5-8 minutes and I turn them over once.

Ok that’s great thank you, hopefully they’ll turn out ok
