Why do I feel awkward having to remind her to pay back money I loaned?

I loaned sister £400 as she's started a new job and gone to monthly pay. Agreed she could pay £200 this month and again next. She gets paid 14th of each month and hasn't paid me back yet. I know is ridiculous but I feel like I shouldn't have to remind her or ask her to pay it back. It's not like it's a tenner...
I have helped her out here and there before with the odd £20 and had to remind her, I just feel like if I had borrowed that much I wouldn't need reminded, I'd make it a priority. Don't know why I just feel shit having to ask for it back when it's not like I'm desperate for it, it's the principal right?

"This month" as in October? Maybe she had other expenses outstanding? Seems a bit soon to chase.

She doesn't forget she owes you money. Shes relying on you feeling too awkward to ask.

Send her a text message. "Hi sis, how are you? I could do with that £200 you owe me, here's my bank details incase you don't have them saved ...."

She got paid over a week ago. If the OP leaves it much longer, there'll be an excuse of why she hasn't got the cash this month.

Just text her your bank details.

And if you're the sort of person who feels awkward asking for money back, don't lend it.

No. Rude rude rude. If she has other expenses she needs to ask her sister if she can pay the money later than planned and it’s up to the op to choose if that works for her

You feel awkward because by "forgetting" she has put you in the awkward position of asking for it. Send a breezy text with your bank details or give her the option of paypal friends and family. Be friendly but business-like, she should respect that. Good luck.

Remind her, and make it her fault with a jokey insult. "Don't forget you were supposed to pay back £200 after pay day. Honestly, you'd forget your head if it wasn't attached, wouldn't you. 😂😂"
