Hi. I signed up to Glossybox sept box as it had some amazing things in that after 18 months of alot of stress thought be great. They sent me a box of samples not what was advertised. I messaged them. No contact. Opened case with PayPal sending a photo of what I received and what I was meant to receive. PayPal says Glossybox has the receipt they sent me something...yes the samples as shown in the photo. Aibu thinking I can send the samples back as they not want I ordered. The samples are sitting in their box waiting to returned. I'm getting no where with PayPal or Glossybox.

I thought glossybox was mostly samples, with one or two full size products? Are none of them full size OP? If not then I think you should be able to return it.

Polmuggle · 23/10/2021 07:54

Do you mean the products were different than in the email?

They are (almost) always samples as in sample size but assuming you don't mean that?

londonrach · 23/10/2021 07:55

None are full size and they totally different to what was in the photo. They ignoring my messages saying that not got them ...

Polmuggle · 23/10/2021 07:57

They're not supposed to be full sized.

You should have gotten:

  • a small facial brush
  • a sheet mask
  • a sample size of serum
  • a cleanser
  • one other product

Sadly no e of those polmuggle. Fake tan sample sent in September . Seems to be things they had left over. Thank you mnhq for sorting out my incorrect name of the company. Going to message them again to ask to return the samples

OP this happened to me so frequently I cancelled my subscription. Glossybox fulfill orders in batches and if you are in the later batches you don’t get everything advertised but some/all replacements.

Unfortunately their T and Cs permit this;

“ We also reserve the right to limit quantities purchased by Subscribers and to change, suspend, or terminate a monthly edition, limited edition or promotion at any time without notice (including after an order has been submitted or acknowledged). We do not guarantee that all products described on our website will be available.”

It’s really annoying and quite shady. I cancelled after receiving a box of samples with no full size products; some of the samples were the same toiletries from a hotel I’d been to!

Meggie2008 · 23/10/2021 08:57

As above, if you've subscribed later on, sometimes they've run out of the things in the advertised box so they send a different box with alternative items in it.

Fetarabbit · 23/10/2021 09:00

I had an annual subscription with them, they used to be great, they went downhill fast imo, and not just due to the pandemic. As has been said, if you're in a later batch and they have run out of the advertised products you get leftovers either from previous boxes, or presumably that they have been given at some point. It is in their Ts and Cs but feels very misleading, and I cancelled as it got a bit boring getting a pile of crap!

Cuntness · 23/10/2021 09:05

I've just cancelled my Glossybox subscription because it got a bit crap.

I'd cancel yours, too. Hopefully someone will be able to recommend a better one to you.

maternitycoat · 23/10/2021 11:11

Glossybox are not very nice. I cancelled my subscription. I remember the customer service people were rude

Somehow; try to post a photo in their facebook? Perhaps in the comments under the post about the sept nox?

WhyMeLord · 23/10/2021 11:20

I really like glossybox and have been a subscriber for about 18 months now, I did get a box of shite in the first month though and complained to deaf ears, since then though I've got what was advertised every month no problem. It seems they run out of stuff fulfilling orders for regular subscribers each month and so have to go rummaging through the bins in the office to get something out to new subscribers in that month. I've never seen a good word about their customer service. All that said, for the monthly price I think they are great.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 23/10/2021 11:32

I had a right time cancelling my subscription with Glossybox. Really poor customer service imo.
