Had my 12 week scan today and wondered if anyone fancied a guess at the gender? Not sure if a nub is even visible but any other thoughts or theories welcome. Just a bit of fun

Not to be rude, but I can't see how anyone could possibly tell from that picture, unless they are a highly trained professional!

It's sex, not gender BTW.

Two spirit or neutrois. But only on days of the week when there's a full moon. Days beginning in T are the opposite of what you'd think of course. But if you mean sex, then it's definitely a boy or a girl. Congratulations.

Is it even possible to determine sex from a scan as early as 12 weeks? I thought it was much later for scans.

Sorry for any bad wording and obviously I realise there is no definitive way to tell (hence why I said it's just a bit of fun) but there are some theories - nub, skull etc - that can give an early indication. I wasn't sure if this photo showed a nub as I'm not totally sure what I'm even looking for!

Your baby doesn’t have a gender. It has a biological sex.

To be honest I don’t know why anyone cares to find out - all I cared about was that my baby was healthy.

OP do you want to ask MNHQ to move this to pregnancy? You might get less people failing to be funny....

It's not about being funny. It's that it's way too early to tell so people will guess randomly, which seems pointless

@meadowbleu according to that chart it's a boy!

@VestaTilley it's possible to prioritise your baby's health and well-being and yet still be curious about what their biological sex will be.
