Brought a new build flat last November the bath panel stuck out and had an inch gap at one end. I contacted the managing agent and they sent someone out to fix it who suggested a new bath panel that would fit. The can’t just replace the bath panel as the bath is too high at one end and the floor is uneven underneath. They sent a builder from a company round to check the bath they said the bath needs to be lowered floor sorted and tiles re done. The managing agents said to just lower the bath an resilicone as it’s the cheaper option. I now have a bath panel that’s still not in properly badly sticking out now and still a gap with really thick silicone badly done around the bath as the gap from lowering it is so big. I’ve spoken to them and sent pictures and there sending someone round to fix the silicon but as the tiles are discontinued they can’t really take them off and lower the bath properly and sort the floor out. This really is starting to frustrate me and I’ve waited nearly a year for it to be fixed party due to Covid and builders not turning up etc where do I stand can I write them a letter from a solicitor.

You just have to insist that they fix the floor. They will always do it if you persist enough. Honestly you can actually get them to do anything in the end. Most of these new build companies have a higher budget for snags and repairs then thru do for actual building

Do you have a new build warranty? Ours was with Zurich, NHBC ones are common too. Contact them.
