Cambridge- relaxing restaurant with soft chairs!

Name changed and posting here for traffic.

I’m visiting my very overworked and overstressed student daughter in Cambridge and looking for somewhere really relaxing to chill with her for at least a couple of hours eg comfortable restaurant for long relaxing lunch. Her room is poky and she doesn’t want to walk around anywhere.

I don’t really care about the food, cost etc. she isn’t really eating much, it’s the chairs and ambience I’m after!

Any suggestions?

University Arms Hotel on Parkers Piece has a bar area with soft seating and presumably a bar food menu (the adjacent Parkers Tavern restaurant - also part of the hotel - will have a more extended menu). Its an upmarket place - check their website here: www.universityarms.com/eat-drink/

Otherwise Cambridge is full of lots of Pubs - some nice independents as well as quite a lot of Greene Kings - where no doubt there are plenty of arm chair/sofa type seating who will happily let you have lunch and drinks for a few hours.

A belated thanks all, we settled on the University Arms in the end, I think it helped.
