Yanbu. SO annoying. They should be banned from Joe public buying them

WorraLiberty · 19/10/2021 22:47

It's almost every night all year round in my area.

What no-one can work out is who lets them off almost every night at 12.30am.

CodeMode · 19/10/2021 22:47

I’m with you. People around here have been setting them off for a couple of weeks, between 7pm and midnight. I can’t stand them and they scare my dogs as well as other animals and wildlife.

Hope you get to sleep soon.

Oh god, that would really piss me off. Round here it seems to be from start of October, on and off through to January. I suppose we’re ‘lucky’ then. I absolutely hate them, the noise is horrible. But I’ve known 2 people be injured by them, one at an organised event. They need to be completely banned, they’re so dangerous and the affect they have on animals and some people is just awful.

And even longer till nov 5th.

YANBU. Fireworks in the late evening are unnecessary and selfish

Shouldhavedoneitsooner · 19/10/2021 23:05

Are you in London? We have had fireworks here at all times of night over recent years and I was told recently that when there are police raids they set of fireworks as a warning to other dodgy drug places in the area. Don’t know if this is true but it would explain some of the really random times they have been going off.

turkeyandmash · 19/10/2021 23:07

Shouldhavedoneitsooner, I'm in NI but didn't know that

They seem to have stopped now for the night, here's hoping that's that so I can go to sleep!

We had them the other night going off . We’ll be sick it by November the 5th.

Notcontent · 19/10/2021 23:09

When I first moved to the U.K. I was really shocked that you can just buy quite heavy duty fireworks everywhere.

I know people say they are just “a bit of fun” but they are not really when people are setting them off for weeks over autumn and winter, often right next to residential properties.

turkeyandmash · 19/10/2021 23:10

definitely, we'll be sick of it. It's been going on the last few weeks near us. Too widely available, some kids were buying them last year in the nearby town and trying to throw at cars which is totally unacceptable and dangerous
