To think this class should be closed?

I'm a part time primary teacher and in the space of two weeks, 14 children have tested positive out of 30 in my class.
We've had 2 or 3 return in that time, but more and more are testing positive. Now my teaching assistant has it.
AIBU to think we should be sending the class home and remote learning? How would you feel if you were a parent of a child in my class?
Oh, and I'm pretty anxious about my level of exposure too!

Hasn't the vaccination of children been slow because people haven't been taking them up on it? Says a lot about people's opinions

No, it’s been slow because there are a lot of 12-17 year olds and they’ve not long been doing the jabs.

My DC’s school has only just been given the consent forms to send home to us. It’s the last day if the half term tomorrow so who knows when the jabs will actually happen. I don’t know any of my friends or colleagues whose 12-15 year olds aren’t going be done, but there are only a couple of schools locally who have had the vaccinators in. One school had them in for the day-they got only two year groups done and then left with no word about if or when they’d be returning!

So then you have to accept that the probability that they do at least 10 days without education at all is high also. Also that means 10 days at home with abusive parents (I must make reference to this of course).

worriedatthemoment · 22/10/2021 00:14

@CosmicHeat they clearly said with covid not the jab.
What links do you have where your hearing all sorts any actual data

CosmicHeat · 22/10/2021 14:47

@worriedatthemoment with covid is not the same as from covid a distinction lost on many.

CosmicHeat · 22/10/2021 14:51

@ClaudiasWinkleMan we could try the very successful, easy and cheap early treatment employed in India. A combination of invermectin, zinc and something else, can't remember what. At any rate they are doing far better than we are as well as the US basically anyone actually willing to use proven medicine in favour of an experimental vaxx.

worriedatthemoment · 22/10/2021 14:52

@CosmicHeat why are you telling me this ,I know what the difference is and haven't said anything different

Awalkintime · 22/10/2021 18:00

Ivermectin has huge side effects like temporary blindness. Ivermectin at those doses are experimental.

Sherrystrull · 22/10/2021 19:44

experimental vaxx?

What are you talking about? The vaccine programme rollout has been incredibly successful. I hate to think of the numbers of deaths there could have been

CosmicHeat · 30/10/2021 17:22

@Parker231 let's see sky high cases everywhere with high vaccination rate. High hospital admissions with vaxx side effects. Places like Sweden have barely any cases, or other places like India which has used invermectin as part of the early treatment has practically wiped out covid. And you can't blame the unvaxxed as Israel has barely any. Co. Waterford is another example, they have something like 98% vaxx rate, and their case numbers surpassed Flordia for the same time period with a quarter of the population. Something is very very wrong in the world and it amazes me how few see it.

Parker231 · 30/10/2021 17:25

Where is the evidence of high hospital admissions with vaccine side effects. The majority seriously ill in hospital with Covid are unvaccinated (DH is a doctor). The vaccine is a life saver. We also need to ensure social distancing and mask wearing.

CosmicHeat · 31/10/2021 07:46

@Parker231 it is certainly the case in America. Also the stroke wards and heart attack wards are a lot busier than they should be with people who shouldn't even be in them, hubby works in hospital too. If you chart out graphs of hospital admissions between last summer and this one the hospitals are a lot busier, the only difference is this year the vaxx is around and covid is a winter virus.

Though that aside, what was the point in taking the vaxx if you still have to social distance and still have to wear a mask? An honest genuine question? It was supposed to be the ticket to our freedoms back! The government and media have been feeding us one lie after another. Just lockdown for 3 weeks then you can go back to normal, just wear your mask and social distance then you can go back to normal. No wait for the Holy vaxx once you get that you can can be free, oh wait we have to get 70%, no 75%, no wait 80%, oh hold on, all adults vaccinated, then you can be free. No no wait, hang on hang on, no we need the teenagers now....
No wait the children...
No wait the infants.

I know when all living creatures are vaccinated then you can be free again. Of course you'll have to get used to children just dropping dead, having heart attacks and strokes and we're not sure what else. But sure you'll be free by then. Have you seen the adverts trying to educate you on the fact children have strokes too? Why on earth do we need thaf particular bit of education now. I've done first aid training all my life stokes are for old people or at least they used to be. But hey when a doctor at the FDA says we'll just have to stick 'em and see what happens who am I to argue? Only an extremely concerned parent, but of course the state and the 'experts' know best.

Parker231 · 31/10/2021 07:57

Covid isn’t a winter virus. It’s all year round. The benefits of continuing with wearing a mask (not a difficult ask) and social distancing are that fully vaccinated individuals can contract and pass on Covid (but at lower rates than unvaccinated individuals).

CosmicHeat · 31/10/2021 14:31

@Parker231 coronavirus is a winter bug at least it's supposed to be. No point in taking it then is there. The latest data is showing that vaxxed transmit the same if not more than unvaxxed. Not a very good vaxx is it.

I’d suggest following the scientists who can provide accurate up to date information about the vaccinations, the successes around the world and the ongoing research to treatments.

Imagine how many deaths there would have been without the vaccinations - doesn’t bear thinking about. Simple message - get vaccinated.

Please would you forward the evidence - thank you.

Everyone I know, family and friends across France, Belgium, U.K. , Canada and the US, all fully vaccinated, children and adults with no problems.
