Obvious damp in the three bedrooms, a pair of knickers in the bedding and the top of a screw sticking out in a carpet sticky down thing that I’ve already caught my foot on once. We’ve only been here two hours so I haven’t even investigated properly but it’s not the most well kept house…

Damp as in mould on the walls or damp as in a musty smell? The latter I could deal with but the former would have me packing my bags. Tbh I think the knickers in the bed might have finished me off completely. The screw thingy I could overlook. If you can cope for tonight and speak to the owners tomorrow then I’d do that. If not I’d be tempted to find the nearest Premier Inn (actually did this a few years ago. Walked out of a hotel without unpacking due to the mould/moisture dripping off the wall and threw ourselves on the mercy of PI. They gave us complimentary drinks till they could make a room up for us)

The knickers in the bedding suggests the bedding hasn't been changed. That would absolutely put me off and I'd not want to stay.

Full refund for the pants alone. You need clean bedding...

This, airbnb hold onto your payment until the first working day after your arrival so contact them now and the host to report problems explain you cant stay and find somewhere else. I fyou stay they will pay them and it's up to them to agree a discount.

I'd be requesting a full refund based on bedding not being cleaned makes you wonder what else hasn't been cleaned

I’ve emailed them and they just said yes we are aware of the damp and sorry about the knickers. I’ve not been well for a while and we didn’t know if we were going to be able to come away because of hospital appts and it just feels a bit shit. Not sure how to proceed, it’s not bad enough to cancel the stay but mainly becaue i can’t face packing everything up again 😳

To be honest, damp in the bedroom wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for me unless it was really bad - I could suck that up, if I wanted to.

But pants in the bed mean the bed hasn’t been changed; and that’s just not on at all.

Did you ask for a partial refund; and they’ve apologised but not mentioned the refund?

Not changing the bed isn’t really an option and if find it easier to pack up again than change someone else’s bed in a substandard Airbnb, so I’d leave.

Yuk! I would not be sleeping in a bed I found dirty knickers. Cancel and look for something else. How annoying.

I didn’t ask for a refund I didn’t want to be confrontational I just wanted to let them know of the issues and see what they said. If the damp was brand new then it’s explainable and they said sorry about the pants but they must have got caught up in the washing
