That saved us a search

No problem. Another tip I've discovered is that we can use spring onions if you chop off the white part and only use the green bits to try and get some flavour that way xx

Thanks. He won't go anywhere near an onion just because of the reaction. He's got to the point where he hates the smell too.
But thank you for the tip 😊

It is really easy to make gravy without granules. Meat Juice plus the water you cooked the veg in. Plus a pinch of salt. If you like it thick add some cornflour until desired consistency.

(see Delia Smith recipe)

My wife has this allergy - it is a nightmare. The only gravy granules we have found ( for however long it lasts) without onions ( or onion oil) and garlic is Morrisons low salt? If we are doing chicken gravy I use Oxo low salt chicken cubes ( again no onion and garlic) and thicken with the morrisons brand

cornishjenniiii · 21/11/2023 15:41

the red popular brand DOES have onion oil and rosemary. i need to find a gravy with no mushroom, celery, onion, garlic, any herbs :( (arfid here)

anyone used the morrisons own one and noticed the tast of onion.garlic? they often hide it in "flavourings" on the ingredients. just says flavouring, doesnt state what the flavoring is

This is the bane of my existence because it is where all of my allergens lurk. If an item would typically have a particular spice or flavor included, it is best to assume it is included in the generic category and is not safe to eat.

food labeling regulation is awful.

it just says flavourings, they should really say what these flavorings are :(
