Day Nurseries using Covid to not let parents in

My child has just started nursery but they will only let me drop her at the door and collect her from the door. They said no parents can come in, when I asked a friend who works there why is this because its not government guidelines. She said nurseries are doing it because they dont want parents in because its easier for them. AIBU thinking that this is wrong? I dropped my daughter at the door then another parent couple came, she was stood with them very close gathered at the door with the worker. I could see in her face (shes 3) that she felt uncomfortable. If they had just allowed me in to bring her to her playroom like before this wouldnt have happened.
Plus this centre also lets pregnant mums in, visitors but not parents. Every parent knows how hard it can be when your child is just starting a new nursery. I understand if its to protect the children but they said its easier with no parents in. I love walking her in, helping take her coat off, watching her run and play. Now its just ring the bell, take child, bye!
