To not know why my bathroom smells like fish?

Just that! Yesterday I notice an odd smell like fish in the bathroom. It was the day after I’d deep cleaned so not mould or anything. Today it’s much stronger and you smell it as soon as you walk in.
Google suggests a light fitting or the toilet itself?
Any suggestions? It’s horrible!

Bakelite in the light fitting definitely gives off a fishy smell when it needs to be seen by a professional.

Sounds like an electrical fault to me.

Was going to say light fitting. Happened to our switch that turned on lights and fan together.

My mum had the same problem and it turned out it was the adhesive on the lampshades. It only happened in her small spare room, and only he slept there, so she was convinced it was him that smelled fishy! The lamp was only used in the evenings when he stayed over, so that was the only chance there was for the glue to warm up and smell so terrible.

My switch that controlled the shower smelled like that when it was burning out.

Second the shower switch. It was horrible when it was burning out.

Sounds electrical then. I will get my landlord onto it tomorrow.
