To ask when they stop getting ill?

If you have children in nursery how long did it take for them to stop catching every bug going?
In regards to things like colds did you find the longer they were in nursery the more the colds didn't bother them?
My son is 16 months old and has been at nursery since January. He still catches everything and when he gets a cold is so clingy and sleepy he can't attend.
I was really hoping that by now he'd be attending nursery regularly and not getting so ill. I don't think he's actually done a full month since he started (and he only does 2 days a week).
I need childcare for work but am having to keep having time off. They have made some comments about time off and are probably sick of hearing me say it'll get better soon.
How long did it take your child to stop getting ill all the time?

They don't, my son is in P1 and the whole family has been I'll for weeks with everything he's bought home.

My son only went to nursery term time and I find they get less illnesses in the spring and summer and none over the summer holidays when they're not surrounded by other kids but when they return in September it all starts again.

I think it gets easier when they get to secondary school age and they can look after themselves when they get sick but until then it's a case of sharing sick days with your partner and relying on relatives to help out if they can. PIL often had DSD when she was sick.

Urgh I'm in the same position. I feel so sorry for them being ill all the time. Would love to know when it gets better!

My DD is in reception and still bringing bugs home, sorry OP think there's a few years to go yet

Honestly
Both mine were hardly ever Ill. And still hardly ever.

If he’s getting loads now, then I can’t see that changing?

Depends on the child. Ds1 is pretty robust and rarely ill- if he does get something he's usually over it quite quickly. Ds2 gets everything under the sun and even a cold knocks him for six. No idea why they are so different! I've not done anything different with either of them.

DS is 9 and he’s much better now than he was when he was little.
It is important to share time off with your partner and tell work you are doing so. Stops them moaning as much if you can say LO off today but Daddy has him today as it’s his turn.
