Was playing Lego Jurrasic World with DD earlier and decided to watch the most recent film.

Chris Pratts character leaves to do random dangerous thing and says to Dallas Bryce thingybobs character (with whom he had had a relationship but they split and then she emotionally blackmailed him into the mission) "If I dont make it back, remember that you made me come"

And I JUST got it, despite watching that film several times!

Why is a North Mountain amusing?

NameChangeinHaste · 16/10/2021 23:23

I’m guessing the north mountain is Arendelle’s equivalent of the Oxo Tower!

PyongyangKipperbang · 16/10/2021 23:40

Yep!

There's a singing teapot in Beauty and the Beast who sings about falling in love thus:

"Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly"

LizzieSiddal · 16/10/2021 23:51

Oh dear Thistimelastweek is it past your bedtime, you sound over tired.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 16/10/2021 23:55

I always chuckle at “I’m glad you came” by The Wanted.

NashvilleQueen · 16/10/2021 23:58

'Darling it's better
Down where it's wetter
Take it from me'

I don't think it's meant to be rude but come on!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/10/2021 00:01

I've never understood why somebody would deliberately choose to click on an obviously silly thread and then be offended to find that it's silly.

I always found it amusing in Austin Powers, where, in the name of comedy/parody, they gave the female love interests names that were more like single entendres.... but then, in the actual Bond films, you realise they often do pretty much the same! Same with some of the pervy statements and mucky chat-up lines that James comes out with - never one for subtlety, really, was he?

I thought I was the only one who was this dirty minded 😂

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/10/2021 00:05

The Katie Melua song 'Halfway Up The Hindu Kush' has always been quite eye-opening. If Madonna or even Tina Turner had sung it, you'd just thing "Ah, yeah - rude!".... but you hear KM singing it and just keep thinking to yourself: "Buuuut, that's Katie Melua, that is!?!?!?"

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/10/2021 00:12

And Dennis Lecorriere - the lead singer of Dr Hook - is still touring to this day. I wonder if, every time he sings "When you're in love with a beautiful woman - it's hard", he has to battle against his inner Beavis & Butthead and concentrate on singing it tenderly and romantically rather than in the style of Sid James!

Emmelina · 17/10/2021 00:19

“Why have a ballroom with no balls!”
Kids: singing along merrily
Me and DH: exploding in laughter
Now 14 year old “gets” it and is so embarrassed!

TheGirlWhoLived · 17/10/2021 00:25

Oh frozen is full of the double entendree! I love it Grin

deenar · 17/10/2021 00:44

Another Frozen one,
When the duke of Weselton takes Anna for a dance & goes "they don't call me the Little Dipper for nothing" cracks me up every time and the kids are always baffled!

Caplin · 17/10/2021 00:50

Me and the husband both fnar over Frozen ‘north mountain’ line, especially as she says it so aggressively!

TheUndeadLovelinessOfDemons · 17/10/2021 00:57

When Diego and Manny are being eaten by the carnivorous plant in one of the Ice Age movies:

"I feel a slight tingling sensation."
"Don't say that when you're pressed up against me."

Oh there are so many "iffy" moments in Ice Age!

I love that kids film makers have finally copped on to the fact that if they make the parents laugh then they will make more money!

@ WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll

... yes they knew exactly what the double entendre was!

MrsClatterbuck · 17/10/2021 06:15

This was years and years ago. Whilst on a training course during our lunch hour me and another girl went into the city centre to look around the shops. It was during the troubles and there were barriers where we would have got our bags searched. We were in our bank uniforms and a soldier asked which one when I without a pause came out with our then current slogan. It's the one where you come first Realised what I had just said and was totally mortified and we just ran off in a fit of giggles. I would have been about 19

Garman · 17/10/2021 06:40

Always thought it was just me being immature with the North Mountain comment in Frozen!
