How long do you get out of a phone charge?

I have a 1 year old phone SE2020. I charged my phone overnight. I’ve had about 90 minutes of flicking between MN and FB. Sent a text message, checked my calendar. And now my phone battery is on red and will need charged again very soon. This is shit, right?

Less than 2 hours of use? That's unusable.

I get 6 hours of frequent use (Spotify and airpods on all day, intermittent Zoom calls) out of mine.

It'll last 2 days if I don't actively use it.

Check that one the apps isn't doing something crazy and sucking up all the battery power. On my phone you can do that with in the settings by looking at the "power" option. It tells you what percentage of the total power consumption various apps are responsible for which allows you to spot problems.

If it is not due to a rogue app then there's something wrong with the battery. There is a place near us that will change the battery while you wait for about £60.

Switch off your Bluetooth, as this can drain the battery.

Are your bluetooth and mobile data turned off? Always shut down apps properly when you stop using them too, don't just close them.

I recently upgraded from a 3yo iPhone 7 which lasted 4-5 hours on a full charge. I now have an iPhone 13 Mini and it easily lasts all day. If I didn't use the camera all day for work I could probably get 48+ hours from a single charge.

This is just wrong, Bluetooth battery consumption when not actively being used is negligible (1-3% per day). The same as Wi-Fi being active but not being actively used.

About 4 hours if I leave it alone. I need to have it plugged in if I make calls. It is very old though.

Made a difference here.

My old secondhand Samsung can usually last a few days unless I'm using it a lot but then I'll usually at least get a day and a bit.

The only thing that really drains the battery on mine is if I use the doorbell camera app - for some reason, that one takes a lot of power. Once I accidentally left it up, and it was completely drained in a couple of hours.

My spouse's phone drains a lot faster than mine, but he uses it for a lot of reading. I think it's a combination of phone type and what kind of apps are being used.

About a day and a half if I don't use it a lot - yesterday I left the house with it fully charged, had a mad busy day at work so didn't use it much (but used it for podcasts via Bluetooth in my car for 2 hours of commuting) and it was on 70%ish when I got home at 7pm.

If I'm on a scrolling spree and wearing Bluetooth headphones all day, it'll be low (15%) by the evening.
