I used a gym on a pay as you go basis when on holiday in another part of the UK earlier this year and paid for my sessions by credit card. I turned up for the last session and the gym was not open. Waited 30 minutes but no one arrived so I went back to my holiday residence and asked for a refund.
After two ignored emails and a few phone calls later I finally received a response but they will not just give me a refund even with me providing evidence of my booking and payment. They want a photo of my bank card or my bank statement to proces the refund. Not my credit card but my bank card.
They won't give me a phone number to call to give the credit card details they insist on bank details.
AIBU or is this really off?
This is a genuine company but I just don't like the idea of sending a photo of my debit card over email!
