Question for a Pharmacist

Posting here for traffic.
Quick question, I'm due to collect some prescribed medication from a hospital pharmacy in a couple of days but, having checked my existing stock of meds, and due to an upcoming change in my regime, there will be some medications in the order that I will not need.

If I tell them this when I go to collect, will they be able to remove those items and return them to their stock?

They are expensive meds and I don't want to waste the NHS's money.

For reasons too complicated to explain, I'm not able to get the order changed at this stage.

Many thanks.

Yes they can be reused for another prescription.

Yes, just hand them straight back and they will go back into stock.
If you take them home and then return them they will be binned.

Yes, I knew that @Yubaba, which is why I asked.
Thank you.

As long as they don't leave the Pharmacy they can be returned to stock
