To think I’ve made a rod for my own back

10 month old baby only wakes once in the night but refuses to go back in the cot once he’s woken. It doesn’t matter if he’s fast asleep on you, as soon as you put him back down he is wide awake (and crying.)

I have read all sorts on this which say that he needs to go to sleep in the place you want him to stay so have tried this, it doesn’t work. You are bent over the cot for hours and it seems cruel to have him crying and reaching out and not picking him up.

So have tried pick up put down. Doesn’t work as the second he’s put down he’s awake and crying.

Ive resorted to bringing him in bed with me but it doesn’t work either. And I hate it.

Is there anything I can do? Or is it a case of riding it out?
