I have hypermobike ehlers danlos syndrome.
I yawned and stretched on Monday and dislocated my shoulder. Nothing much new there. Only I couldn't get it back in. So I went to a and e. They reset my shoulder and sent me on my way, only to phone me today and say "oh yeah, keep your arm in the sling because your shoulder is fractured. The shoulder specialist had a look at your xray" .
No bloody winner it hurts so much!

And on top of that I think I have a chest infection as I'm coughing up green phlegm, sore throat, pounding headache and getting breathless. Tested negative for covid so have a phone call with the GP at half 2.

I'm really not having a good time of things this week.

Gentle hugs going your way. I can't get drs appointment at all. Considering leaving dh but am trapped as we live not near public transport and i don't drive and the dog stays with me.
I have health issues as well

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 13/10/2021 13:23

@Cryalot2 that all sounds utterly shit.

Whinging is definitely acceptable.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 13/10/2021 14:12

Well the GP phoned early. I've got a 2 week course of antibiotics to clear up the infection.

Hopefully I'll feel better in a few days once they've kicked in. As for my shoulder I'm just glad I'm on a cocktail of pain meds already or it'd be much worse!

You broke your shoulder having yawn and a stretch? Wow.

Were the staff saying that you had a fracture/dislocation? That as the shoulder was dislocated (I did this once and howled crying before, during and after it was relocated) it has to be treated as a fracture?

YADNBU - fuck me, dislocating anything is painful, dealing with the aftermath of that with an infection that makes you cough would be absolutely miserable.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 13/10/2021 14:17

@Gingernaut yep. There's literally only me that could manage to do something like that. They said it's definitely fractured because I asked why I hadn't been told on Monday and they said the A and E doctor had missed it as he was so concerned with the dislocation.

I've eds and while I've never broken a bone due to a dislocation. I have spent 6 weeks with pneumonia dislocating my shoulder and collar bone every time I coughed. It's bloody rough when things won't stay in.

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 13/10/2021 14:20

@romdowa you have my sympathy, that must have been an awful few weeks

I was in agony! I hope your shoulder heals soon though. I can't imagine the pain with a break. It's my worst fear that I'll break something and not know because I just ignore a dislocation until it goes back in itself 🤣🤣

Soubriquet · 13/10/2021 14:22

Only you know could do this. Many sympathies to you. Rest in bed whilst dc are at school…don’t fall out of bed or yawn and stretch till vigorously either

HerRoyalRisesAgain · 13/10/2021 14:25

@Soubriquet of course there's only me that could do it Grin
