Me and ds have symptoms.
Bad cough, change to taste and smell, aches, etc
I rang the school who have said if he does a lateral flow test he can go in.
I thought that was if you didn’t have symptoms?

YANBU, he needs a PCR test.

It's meant to be a PCR, you're right.

dementedpixie · 13/10/2021 09:43

Yes they need a PCR not lateral flow test

Mymapuddlington · 13/10/2021 09:43

I thought so, the school was saying about his attendance and that any kids showing symptoms do the lateral flow and stay at school. So if we do have it I think that’s where it will be from Sad

How are they getting it wrong 19 months in? Of course it's a PCR if you've got symptoms. You're correct

Shall I email them with the guidance?
I know there’s a lot of coughs and flu/cold viruses about but I thought better to be safe, especially when at school you’re in contact with so many people.

I would email them OP. It is no wonder covid is spreading like wildfire through schools if some are giving out incorrect information.
