That my neighbour essentially doesn't live at the property, she has made up with her ex and is away for weeks/months at a time, huge homeless issue in our area so does annoy me that a person/couple is missing out on a home.

Yes, report.

You'll be told to mind your own business but this kind of thing really has an impact on others

I think you should notify them. We have a shortage of housing so it's unfair to keep hold of a barely used property.

BrilloPaddy · 11/10/2021 10:59

The house next to DD has been unoccupied for well over 6 months since the tenancy was issued. A woman moved in to all appearances with her DC, there is furniture there etc but no one has actually ever stayed in it.

It looks so neglected that it's very apparent no one is living there. DD phones the HA regularly about it, but apparently no one can get hold of the tenant to find out why she's not living there. Madness.

I'm a Housing Officer - definitely report it as if the rent is still being paid they could be totally unaware.

Only if you are sure she does not own the house herself.

SkySmiler · 11/10/2021 12:55

Very sure not owned and yes the rent is being covered by benefits
