So I have Fauxvid. The cold from hell and I'm on day 5 with no sign of let up. Dd just got over this and it flattened her for a week.

My work are NOT happy.

Did PCR this morning, I know it will be negative. Have had covid, double vaxxed and DD did 2 pcr tests. So here is where I started to wallow....feel like dog shit, trying to register the test online - fill the form in, repeating all the information I did to order the test. Sat on bed, cold, ache, snot dripping from my nose. Computer says no, there's a problem...need to call 119. Get through....after passing the initiation process of navigating the phone line. Say hello, phone cuts out. Call them again....finally get through. Explain the problem...several times. Apparently I did the test two days ago. No, I did not, I have the swab in my hand ready to go. Put on hold, for AGES just want to do the fucking test snd crawl back into bed 😱 finally I get the go ahead.

So I sit on edge of bed....poke already sore tonsils...cue gagging/coughing fit . I'm 51, have two children....do I need to elaborate? repeat in nose...second torrent.

I feel awful and have crawled into my pit and snuggled up with my dog. Ache all over and now my nose is really sore and I feel like I've snorted a load of talcum powder up my nose .

The misery....... oh and I've not dlept for two days due to the snot fest. Currently got toilet paper coming out of both nostrils.

I’m on day 10 of this crap. My nose makes funny noises after I blow (like the air is slowly being sucked back into my sinus cavities). 2 negative tests.

On Sat I took my kids to football practice, which involves lugging a backpack with books and snacks and water so to entertain DC1 while DC2 has practice and then entertain DC2 while DC1 has practice. Felt miserable, sat outside as not to cough at other parents waiting etc. Probably because of sitting outside and the backpack you know what I did? Threw my back.

So now I have two things to whinge about. No one has any pity left for me. Most of my calories come from Paracetamol.

DS is on day 8 - no sign of recovery yet. Covid test negative. It's really awful

I had it at the beginning of September it was Covid despite having Covid last year and being double vaccinated. Talking to someone the other day apparently there is quite an narrow testing window for current variant. PCR & LFT tends to be positive in the first few days of symptoms but not when you have been suffering for a week or so.

I’m on day 8, DC on day 10. Still coughing and exhausted and not eating properly. Was thinking at least we might have Covid and get it over with to gain some immunity - but no, we’ve repeatedly tested negative and it’s just a fucking flu.

Yup. I had it for 2 weeks. Doing the test was the most painful thing I experienced since having a person cut out of me.

I got the prevailing non covid cold a couple of weeks ago, typically, right before my flu jab which had to be cancelled.

I felt really grim for a couple of days and took a while to get well again. DH accused me of being a bit soft about it all until he got it - so a bit of natural justice, at least.

I'm on day 14 and finally feeling human again but still so snotty.

I'm super pregnant, too, so I couldn't take anything for it.

I have the same thing. I’m on day 9 now and if anything feel worse. I also have severe morning sickness and every time I cough it triggers another round of throwing up. Feeling thoroughly sorry for myself and also have a 2 and 4 year old to look after so I can’t even rest

It's so bloody grim literally still in bed.
