No tax/no mot/flat tyre

N/changed as quite outing.

There's a "half way house" a few doors down from me and they smoke weed, it's mum dad and 2 sons that live there - one about 13/14 maybe and the older one id say is about 20, so the dad and the older son smoke it on their door step and it fills the whole little area of me and my neighbours, my neighbours are 60+.. they also have a car that they used to drive about but it has a flat tyre and hasn't been driven in months, it has no MOT or tax now but the son uses it to sit and smoke his spliffs in.. I'm pregnant and its pissing me off smelling that horrendous smell.. shouldn't they do that shit away from everyone else? Especially our elderly neighbours. This house they live in it's a temporary thing, we've all seen many of people come and go but they've been here for 2-3 months at least now! But something else that's arisen now, they've bought another car so they have one car dumped in the first of a five space public car park for where we live (so the car shouldn't even be dumped there) so me and DP have the next 2 spaces as we have 2 cars and our next door neighbour has the last 2 as they have 2 cars but her partner only stays for 4 nights a week but if we drive anywhere weed smoking neighbour will park in the car park in an empty spot meaning me and dp have no where to park.
AIBU to think if he moved his dumped, shitty not road legal car he would have somewhere to park?! The car is dumped in my spot aswell which is beyond annoying, it's where I've always parked, not designated but even the other neighbours were saying "who's dumped their car in your spot?!" But I think this family are the cheekiest set of bastards for leaving an illegal car there, just to smoke their weed in THEN bought an actual car to drive around?!

If the car is in a residents only car park, not sure there's anything you can do, annoying as it is.

BabyLove22 · 11/10/2021 08:30

@Mamamia7962 it's a public car park there's no sign to say it's residents only, other people do park there if there's space and carer's do to to their calls, other people on the street have their own drives we're just a little corner bit with a car park that's just a given we all park there cos they're outside our houses, it's so very annoying 😩

If the dumped car has no tax then it's not allowed to be parked on a road or anywhere without a SORN (statutory off road notice). You could report that - I think to the DVLA - and they might get it towed away.

Then you'd be halfway there!

Can't you report the drugs to the police? And/or keep a diary, saying how it affects you and your neighbours, then report it to the council.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 11/10/2021 08:37

Report the car online.
Ring 101 and speak with someone about the drug use.

Mamamia7962 · 11/10/2021 08:37

Ok, either report the car to the council or DVLA as being dumped. You can do that anonymously.

girlmom21 · 11/10/2021 08:37

Report the car if it's illegal.

The police won't do anything about a bit of weed.

BabyLove22 · 11/10/2021 08:40

@AlbertBridge I think one of the neighbours have reported the car to DVLA already. I was thinking about reporting but I don't know if police would help because I feel like the family then would just cause shit for us! The property they're in is the actual council so I would of thought they would be on their best behaviour as that house is like last chance saloon, they've either been kicked out their old house or lost it due to other reasons, that's how you end up in there but the drugs thing is a massive issue for this area, it's a retirement living culdesac, I had to be working to live there as they don't want young jobless people making noise or taking drugs or anything, if you're caught you're straight out that's why I can't understand the attitude the family has in this area. Just so disrespectful I can't get my head around it 🤷🏼‍♀️

You can report people to the council anonymously. I've done that! Do it over the phone. Say you're too scared to give your name because these people are intimidating and threatening, and then detail the drug use with dates and times.
