DS will be going to Uni next year. We are all foodies but he will have to watch his budget. Are there any cooks/cook books/online resources you can recommend for budget cooking that are based on 'proper meals'? I'm really looking for something based on fresh ingredients that develops cooking technique rather than "mix a tin of this and a tin of that and top with mashed potatoes" etc. I could trawl but hope you can save me the time!

Sorry, think I've posted this in wrong place - what a clunky site this is!

Tins aren't always bad - tinned tomatoes, tinned vegetables, tins of beans/pulses, coconut milk.... All very useful!

Maybe try Student Eats? www.google.com/amp/s/studenteats.co.uk/%3famp
