A month or two ago, I read a post by someone who'd adopted a rescue dog in good faith and looked after it for several months, taking care of vets bills when it was ill and sadly the dog was so ill it had to be put down (again, OP paid). Whereupon the rescue outfit came after the OP for £thousands. MN opinion was this was some sort of scam. I have probably misremembered some details - apologies - but does anyone remember the post I mean?
The reason I ask is because I have come across something on FB that looks suspect and might be a similar sort of thing. A few people have responded sympathetically and offered to help and I'm concerned they'll get scammed.
