Bloody NHS Covid Passport Dilemma... help!

Noangelbuthavingfun · 04/10/2021 20:33

Need some advice from people more experienced and less frantic than me!
Due to travel to Spain in 12 days.... God knows why I thought that would be a good idea with all the stress!
Both DH and I vaccinated fully. DS under 12 so no vaccination or tests to fly needed.
My Covid passport worked before ... I tested it, all good for 30 days.
Yesterday got a positive PCR test result and need to isolate for a further 7 days... that's also fine as isolation ends 5 days before flight date. DS and DH negative.
Checked today and my Covid passport has now disappeared! I can understand why it won't be valid today or at this point but there is no info on when it will be reinstated or what the process is and am worried I don't get it back working before we fly, even if I am recovered and completed isolation ! What now ?! Has this happened to anyone ? Did you get the covid pass reinstated after 10 days digitally ? Or does the vaccination status now go out the window and I need a pre-flight PCR "fit to fly" test as I won't get a covid passport again ?
So frustrated as just don't know how it works now and what to expect .... anyone had this same experience and can enlighten me please? Thanks !
AIBU - just trust the system it will be OK
AINBU - get a fit to fly test as its now stuffed up

I'm following as I'm in the same boat! Positive test today; flying on the 20th.

I don’t have any experience, but my assumption is that once your isolation is up, it should revert back to showing your vaccination status. I would call your GP if it hasn’t updated within 48hrs of the end of your isolation period.

Good luck!

PeonyTime · 05/10/2021 12:41

Pretty sure it comes back the day after your isolation finishes.

I’m not sure a GP would be able to help in this situation!
Hadjab · 05/10/2021 14:18

I was told by my pharmacist to call the GP if my vaccinations weren’t showing, which neither of them were - I don’t know what they did, but they fixed it 🤷🏼‍♀️

DappledOliveGroves · 05/10/2021 14:21

My Covid passport on the app disappeared as soon as I got a positive PCR and basically said 'no records found' despite having had both jabs. If I remember correctly it ended up reinstating itself on the app a few days after the end of the isolation period, not immediately after. I think it was maybe 2 or 3 days after finishing isolating?

DorotheaDiamond · 05/10/2021 14:22

Doesn’t the passport then say you are within 90 days of positive so you can’t do a pcr / don’t need to test anyway?

emmy4 · 05/10/2021 14:24

I'm in isolation now and my vaccine passport is still showing.

girlywhirly · 05/10/2021 15:29

You can get a paper letter sent for travel with your vaccination status, it takes around 5 days to arrive. Always good to have a backup in case phone doesn’t work. Also the letter ha no expiry.

poshme · 05/10/2021 15:30

Mine disappeared & came
Back the day after my 10 days were up.

zighead · 05/10/2021 15:34

I’ve just had this too. I was so worried but it came back exactly 11 days after positive text. I can’t understand why the app doesn’t say something to let you know why your flight pass isn’t showing.

madkittylady · 05/10/2021 15:35

Mine has disappeared too, I'm on day 9 so hopefully it will reappear soon.

Noangelbuthavingfun · 05/10/2021 15:53

@zighead thank you I hope i have the same! Basically and flying on day 14 of positive test result ( 6 days after isolation ends) and hoping there is no hold up of 2 or 3 days for the covid pass to return otherwise I can't board!

OP posts:
Noangelbuthavingfun · 05/10/2021 15:54

@poshme and @zighead agree its so frustrating they can just add a note on app saying it will be reinstated after isolation ends ! Is it 11 days after test itself or 11 days from day 1 of symptoms?

Stronger2021 · 05/10/2021 15:56

@Noangelbuthavingfun
Just to say as a backup you can also request a letter from your GP to confirm you have had 2 jabs. Request this online and it comes back after 5 days. This was sufficient for me to travel

Noangelbuthavingfun · 05/10/2021 15:56

@DappledOliveGroves thanks. What did it say afterwards ? Just vaccine status or something about the positive pcr?

Stronger2021 · 05/10/2021 15:58

@girlywhirly sorry cross post Smile

Noangelbuthavingfun · 05/10/2021 15:58

@Stronger2021 did you just call gp up or do it via online request?

OP posts:
Noangelbuthavingfun · 05/10/2021 16:00

@Stronger2021 I see you said online... Will see if I can do this as back up

Lazypuppy · 05/10/2021 16:00

The spain passenger locator form you fill in 2 days before you travel asks if you have either had covid/or been a close contact (can't remember which) in the 14 days before you travel, no idea if that may cause problems in issuing your QR code?

I sent myself the pdf copy of my vaccine passport as soon as i loaded it, so once yours does appear do that and screenshot

hashbrownsandwich · 05/10/2021 16:02

Don't you have to be 28 days clear of a positive PCR now?

Noangelbuthavingfun · 05/10/2021 16:05

@hashbrownsandwich I bloody hope not ! Where does it say that.?!

OP posts:
Cuck00soup · 05/10/2021 16:08

You app will show a covid recovery note after 14 days.

You will need to open the QR code bit and then scroll down to the bottom of the page as it isn't immediately obvious.

Hope you are feeling OK & have a good holiday.

girlywhirly · 05/10/2021 16:08

I requested mine online at the NHS website, you need your NHS number and a few other things so that they can identify your record.
