Aggressive drivers

I was just crossing a zebra crossing I was holding my daughter in one hand and pushing the pram in the other, she just had a massive tantrum so I was just trying to get home, as I crossed it’s one of those crossing where you have to wait in the middle, as I got to the middle the first driver then started beeping his horn repeatedly at me and screamed “thank you!!” Then sped off down the street, what is it with drivers being aggressive, I’m sure there is something that makes people more aggressive when they get behind a wheels? I usually put my hand out to thank the driver but at this point I didn’t have a free hand! Aibu to think these people don’t do it to men? I don’t think I’ve ever known of a man to have this happen to them!

YANBU to think there is no need for people to be aggressive

Well, sorry for your experience, but you will find there are also a lot of men out there who are happy to square up to another man, but wouldn't dream of being aggressive to a woman.

These posts that lump "men" together as if all men are the same are so far removed from reality though. Sorry you have someone shout at you this morning, but, no, that doesn't mean all drivers are aggressive and it doesn't mean that those that are aggressive are all men and it doesn't mean that those that are both aggressive and men wouldn't be that way to other men.

Oh come on, @Kite22, I've seen dozens and dozens of road-ragey men and only a few women. It's definitely a male thing.

Thank you, thought I was going mad then! I’ve read frequently on here of female joggers having abuse shouted at them from drivers for no reason at all, I even remember when I was heavily pregnant and a car of young men drove past and shouted out the window “oi fatty” I’ve literally never heard of a man getting things screamed at them from random car drivers but yeh I’m sure men get it just as much 🙄

All the queuing up for petrol, inflation, taxes going up, Brexit, everyone is under a lot of stress and the road is a very common place for it to vent out unfortunately. I have noticed people in public are angrier than ever nowadays.
