To sit in my car on drive whilst isolating just to get some peace?

Day seven of having covid, what’s driving me mad the most is my family.
Wherever I am, they are. They’ve all tested negative, somehow, so did go out for an hour yesterday which was nice. It’s driving me crazy!

Why would that be unreasonable if you’re not going anywhere???

Spookypenguin · 04/10/2021 09:30

Dh thinks it’s mad.
I’ve tried suggesting people leave me alone for a bit but not so much. The lack of space is driving me insane.

No problem with that at all. Also, you can insist that they all leave the house! Send them on errands to shops or something....anything to get them out of the house!

If he thinks it's mad he can go out so you don't have to do it!

Why would it be mad?! Just do it. Can’t fathom your husband’s logic at all!!

We are on Day 10 for child 1. I cannot wait for at least one to be back at school. Then on Wednesday, they are both back and I am FREE.

I love them... just not constantly for 12 days.

As long as you don’t run your engine, it’s absolutely fine to use it for some personal space.

whatswithtodaytoday · 04/10/2021 09:35

I used to do it during lockdown with a toddler - just needed my own space. Why not?!

WilsonandNoodles · 04/10/2021 09:38

When we were on lockdown my husband turned the car on the drive into his home office just to get the peace he needed to work. Get some nice treats a cosy blanket and go and lock yourself in there with a good book or film.

I almost done this during the week for the same reason. I'm on day 15 of isolation my children returned to school and nursery today thank God. I come out of isolation on Thursday so going to make the most of the next few days being home alone with no noise from other people.

proudwomansexmatters · 04/10/2021 09:49

YADNBU. I would be sitting in that car for a lot longer than 1 hour though!!!!

Noogar · 04/10/2021 09:49

Why wouldn't it be fine? If there's no one else in there then you're still isolating.

VainAbigail · 04/10/2021 10:30

As long as you don’t run your engine

Because why?

Heat? Radio? Not actually driving anywhere?!

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 04/10/2021 10:41

Heat, radio, just because.

People do it all the time.
