AIBU to wonder why I bother to contribute to threads that then get deleted at the OPs request?

I was on the Wayne Couzens thread which was deleted - fair enough, too much speculation and misinformation about his family; but also on a thread about a community midwife which was withdrawn at the request of the OP.

Seems a waste of time to post - threads just disappear into the ether, because the OP gets the hump?

Well one could argue that posting on mumsnet in general is a waste of time
