What would you do?? I got 3 quotes for a total refit of my bathroom, I took the middle quote not only that he was son in laws old school friend but he was talking the same refit as I was thinking, 1st day excuse of petrol situation, 2nd day spent all day ripping bathroom out to bare bricks to tell me he can't get rid so I had to hire a skip, first alarm bell, then the 3rd day he comes gor an hour to stop a leak he caused we are now on day 7 and still no bathroom, promise after promise had been made always blaming the tiler, the tiler arrived today spent 2hrs putting 3 tiles on took them off had a row with someone on the phone left saying I will be half an hour, but didn't come back, no texts or calls, I am thinking COWBOYS and cut my losses or give them benefit of the doubt, what do you think please

Can you live without the bathroom until you find someone else?

@Colgrand were you given a realistic quote for the work or did you think it sounded very cheap or overly expensive? Each scenario would ring an alarm bell...

This is why I hate renovations- even the “decent” tradesmen have half an eye on your job and half on another. My DH wanted to get some major renovations done and I said I’d rather move house. I remember reading an article about Madonna taking her builders to court (some mega work on a London property) and I remember thinking if Madge can’t get builders to do the job as promised, what chance have us mere mortals got?

It is the only bathroom in the house but have lasted a week so far, another week won't matter, my neighbours are loving the free baking in exchange for us using their loo lol.
