To wish the weather would make it's mind up?

It's so irritating. Yesterday, cold and wet, today thought it would be cold but absolutely boiling in my winter coat.
Sick of dressing up warm for the morning and then being too hot by afternoon. Aibu to wish it would turn autumnal and stay that way? It's showing as 19C later this week. It's October. Hmm

YABU! Wear adaptable clothing, and check the weather forecast.
I'm not wishing away the last gleams of warm sun, even if they do come amidst rain.

I don't like to complain if I can get our washing dry by hanging on the line in October. Though it does vary as to which day!

Relentless rain here. Cheesing me right off.

TakeYourFinalPosition · 03/10/2021 13:54

The forecast did say that today would be nice and a bit warmer; after yesterday’s downpours… they haven’t been too reliable this year but I can’t complain about the last few weeks!

And I’d always take some sun over grey; cold and rain. It makes so many people sad, and it’s so relentless. I’d much rather plan adaptable outfits than have months of constant grey.

YANBU.

I work outdoors. In one hour this week, I had t-shirt weather, torrential rain and flash foods, hail and then more sunshine Hmm

This is the UK - what do you expect? Its always been like this!

BlossomOnTrees · 03/10/2021 14:15

It does seem particularly late for Autumn to hit fully though.
Usually by this point it feels like Autumn. Of course there have been exceptions but this changeable weather is just annoying.

October is often nice around here - SW London. I’ve known 21 deg temps even right at the end of October. (Both times it was v different on 1st Nov though!)

I know what you mean though. Yesterday was grim here - I wore a winter coat for the first time - today bright and sunny, and considerably warmer.

Hummmph · 03/10/2021 14:21

It feels like autumn here (WM). Lots of rain, with the odd day of clouds/ sun. Windier. Cooler.

The house is cold in the mornings until I put the heating on.

I was able to leave food outside overnight as there wasn't enough room in the fridge. All screams autumn to me.

AttaGirrrrl · 03/10/2021 14:25

It’s currently chucking it down in my front garden and bright sunshine in the back.
